Repairing Pavers

A great benefit of pavers is that they can be repaired without tearing it out! As opposed to concrete, pavers can be repaired without having to tear out the entire area that is paved. 

​In order to repair the area, we follow a few standard steps. First, we pull up the area that has settled. Next, we assess why it failed. There are numerous reasons as to why patios may settle. Some problems that we often see include: 

• animals, such as chipmunks, getting under the base and pulling material out
• not having an edge restraint, so bedding material migrated out of the pavers
• improper compaction during installation 
• water getting in the base and not being able to properly drain. 

After assessing the issue, we address the issue. Finally, we recompact the base, put everything back together, and re-sand the paved area.
